Introduction of Karachi Shelter Old Age Home

This project name is “Karachi Shelter old age & special child care Center”. The Project was established in 2017 and was registered with the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Sindh. It may be mentioned here that my younger son named Dr. Dominic Younus looks after the entire works of this Organization. We have established two care centers in Karachi. One in Gulshan-e-Iqbal and the other is at Ghazi-e-Abad, Orangi Town. The head office of Karachi Shelter is situated at House – 277, Street- 34, Sector 111/2, Ghazi-e-Abad, Orangi Town, Karachi.

Mission and Vision 

 Mission:

 To provide free of cost medicines of skin diseases to the orphan children, old age persons, widows and children who belong to Madrasas and Sunday school. 

 Vision: 

 make an institution for old people, orphan children, special children and needy persons.

Karachi Shelter Programs

Physiotherapy

The Karachi Shelter project is involved with so many type of the physiotherapy cases for children, older people . The physiotherapy is carried out at our Ghazia Abad therapy center, Orangi Town.

 

        Skin Diseases Care

Skin Disease is one of the Major Crises in Sindh. Many patients are coming to our center every day. It is difficult for our organization to treat them free of cost, all though we try to treat them as much as possible in lower cost.

 

       Care for Old Age Persons and Special Children

In our center many older men and women are coming for physiotherapy. And some of them need admission in our center for regular treatment.

But due to financial constraints in Karachi Shelter it is not possible for their admission.

 

  Working with all Jail prisoners in Karachi

Care to Life has been working with all Jail prisoners since 1983 till now. We have been providing the jail prisoners with food and Skin Disease medications.

 

        Interfaith Dialogue

The history of interfaith dialogue is as anciently as the religious since men, women when not at war, with their neighbors and other communities always make an effort to understand them favorably.

History records many examples of interfaith initiatives and dialogue throughout the ages. Our interfaith dialogue is to implement them in all over Sindh and Punjab, also in Pakistan .

 

      Christmas and Easter Celebration in Karachi

From 25th of December 1991 and till to date we are  promoting interfaith harmony  and we celebrated Christmas day with all communities in Pakistan. Gifts and packages of food as token for interfaith harmony were distributed to all participants instead of cast, creed, race and religion.

PLANNED PROJECTS2022-2024

 

 

PLANNED PROJECTS IN KARACHI

Karachi Shelter has planned to implement the following projects during 2022-2024 in Ghazi-a-Abad, Orangi Town & Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

 

i)  Assistance to Paralyzed and Special Children

House Visit by Volunteers for monitoring and helping paralyzed patients and special children. Also data collection of the new vulnerable patients.

 

ii)  Training Program

First Aid & Health Care Training program for 30 boys and 30 girls from Gazia bad, Orangi Town will be selected and hired to work in the project.

 

iii)  Establish Diabetic centre in Orangi town, Karachi

Setting up a diabetic control centre in Orangi town is in process . 6 goths/slums will be selected. Goats will be Ghaziabad, Hawa Goth, Gulshan-e-Zia, Noor Mohammad Goth, Altaf nagar , Shah Waliullah Nagar.

 

iv)     Provide to Cancer Patients in getting medications and follow up in Orangi Town

 

v)   Distribution of NFI (Non-food items) and Hygiene kits to 1500 families in Orangi town and Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

1500 non food items and hygiene kits will be distributed in Ghazia bad and Gulshan-e-iqbal for the needy families. Selection criteria is followed strictly while selecting the families.

WHO WE ARE

We are here not for income, but for outcome

My name is Pastor Younus Masih and I am the Chairman of Younus Masih Welfare Trust and social worker. I have been providing treatment of skin diseases to different prisoners regularly. I do all these works free of cost. The God show me a dream in 1990 asking that I should make an institution for old people , orphan children, special children and other persons, but I have no enough sources to achieve the target . I used to pray to the God that how I will do these works. The God has accepted my prayer in April 2016. And I have built an institution in the poor area of Orangi Town, Karachi.

This Project is Younus Masih Welfare Trust and the name of this project is “Karachi Shelter old age home and special children care centre.” have purchased the premises in 1980 where I built this institute and I have completed this building within the period of three years. My younger son named Dr. Dominic Younus looks after the entire works of this institute.
